The 2nd annual Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Cancer Survivors Day was celebrated at our Kenmore location on June 4th.  Many thanks to our Kenmore Hematology/Oncology team who organized the event.  They successfully brought together community support organizations and a number of our staff from other specialty departments to provide abundant resources and education to the more than 200 attendees.

The event provided anyone who has been touched by cancer with an opportunity for a relaxing, educational and supportive afternoon.  Live saxophone music was enjoyed in the background, graciously provided by Arni Cheatham, a two-time cancer survivor.   Participants could relax with a chair massage or paint watercolors with the guidance of an artist.  To promote and maintain healthy living, there were opportunities to get blood pressure checked, learn how to do a self-breast exam, receive samples of sunscreen, and learn more about and get samples of food from HMR® Program for Weight Management,  just to name a few.

We were fortunate to be supported by so many community organizations, including local chapters of national cancer organizations.  Their resource tables provided an opportunity for attendees to receive education and information and to network with others.

Our thanks go to the following community organizations for helping make our Cancer Survivorship Day so enriching:
